- There is a joyful event in the family - a new person has appeared. Now he is the center of the universe for the whole family. Surrounding the newborn with care and attention, the mother strives to give her baby all the best and most useful. In the first six months, breast milk is considered the best food and drink for the baby. But now the baby is already 6 months old and it’s time to introduce complementary foods and additional drinks. Compote as a drink for babies is an excellent option. It's tasty and healthy. The kid will definitely like it.
At what age can you give it to a child?
Not all mothers know at what age you can give your baby extra liquid. If the child is completely dependent on mother's milk, then it is not advisable to supplement the milk until six months. But this does not apply to the hot season. In extreme heat, additional drinking water can be given. From the age of six months, the baby begins to be fed additionally. At the same age it is worth trying compote. You need to start with half a teaspoon, gradually increasing the volume of liquid.
If the baby was initially on formula, then you can give various foods and drinks from 5 months. But the main rule remains unchanged - the introduction occurs gradually.

How to cook properly
To prepare the correct and healthy compote, there are a number of rules:
- One-component compote. The child’s digestive system is not yet fully formed, so it is necessary to introduce the baby to new foods one at a time so as not to overload the little body. It is not recommended to make a drink from several products at the same time.
- Fruits must be hypoallergenic. Allergies are a common companion for children. Until the body is stronger, it is better to give the child meals from foods that will not lead to a rash or diathesis.
- The water for the drink is only purified. Tap water contains large amounts of impurities and heavy metals that can cause harm. Boiling alone is not enough for high-quality cleaning. It is best to use water filters or purchase already purified water.
- Fresh fruit without defects. Wrinkles, signs of rotting and wormy fruits are not suitable. Ripe, beautiful, not overripe fruits.
To preserve the maximum amount of vitamins in the finished drink, you should use a slow cooker.
