Composition of the drug

The active anthelmintic component of Nemozol is albendazole, which affects all types of helminths. Albendazole upsets the biochemical reactions in the cells of the worms, affects the muscle fibers of the parasites and deprives them of the ability to move. The dragee contains 400 mg of active anthelmintic substance and additional components:

Release form and price of Nemozol

The drug is available in different pharmacological forms:

• White or whitish coated tablets Round, biconvex. Nemozol tablets (400 mg) for treatment are used once during or immediately after meals. Dissolving or chewing tablets is strictly prohibited. After taking the pills, abdominal pain may increase, which is considered a normal reaction of the body. After administration, the worms begin to come out along with the child’s feces. Tablets contain 200 mg (1 piece per blister) or 400 mg (2 pieces per blister) of albendazole.

The drug is capable of destroying both one and several types of helminths at once. Absorption of tablets in the gastrointestinal tract occurs slowly, but accelerates with simultaneous food intake. The bioavailability of the drug is estimated at 30%. Once in the bloodstream, albendazole is transported to the liver, where sulfoxide is formed. This metabolite also has anthelmintic activity.

After all metabolic transformations, the drug is excreted by the kidneys, but if the function of this organ is impaired, its excretion from the body does not deteriorate.

A parasitologist conducts a study of signs and tests and prescribes treatment. Duration of therapy is up to ten days. For children over one year of age, a suspension is used. Nemozol Suspension

• The following dosage conditions must be observed: no more than 15 mg per day for each kg of the child’s weight. Treatment of helminthiasis lasts one week.

Children from two years old:

• If they have cestodosis or stonylodiasis, this drug is prescribed at a dose of 200 mg for three days. After two weeks, it is imperative to repeat taking Nemozol.
• If a child has toxocariasis, Nemozal is prescribed a drug with a volume of 400 mg.
• If opisthorchiasis and clonorchiasis, then nemozol the patient drinks a suspension twice a day with a dose of 20 ml.

Older children under 14 years of age, weighing no more than 59 kg, are prescribed 15 mg per 1 kg of weight twice a day. This is the highest permissible dose per day, which is dangerous to exceed.
